The annual Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a glamorous event bringing together major sports figures and pop culture icons, is held to support the museum’s costume lab.
This year, notable sports personalities included tennis star Serena Williams, Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, and Super Bowl winner Saquon Barkley.
The theme for the gala was “Superfine: Tailing Black Style.”
Barkley made an impression in a classic tuxedo by Tom Brown and H. Moser & Sea, noting, “In my business, I say we look good, feel good and play well. This applies not just to sports, but to life and fashion.”
Teammate Jalen Hurts turned heads in a stunning double-breasted Burberry suit adorned with floral embroidery.
Director Spike Lee, a well-known Knicks fan, confirmed he would sport a Knicks hat as part of his outfit.
Angel Reese, returning for her second consecutive Met Gala appearance, was recently appointed to the 2025 Gala Host Committee.
Reese dazzled in a Tom Brown gown on the red carpet at this prestigious event.
Gymnast Simone Biles and Bears Safety Jonathan Owens, who is also part of the Gala Host Committee, celebrated their wedding anniversary one day early during the gala. “I’m excited to be with my husband,” Biles expressed during a live stream hosted by Vogue.
Other attendees included Bengals star Joe Burrow, former NBA player Dwyane Wade with his wife, actress Gabrielle Union, Viking receiver Justin Jefferson, and Olympic sprinter Shakari Richardson. Giants quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife, Ciara, were also present.
This year, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift were notably absent due to scheduling conflicts, as reported by TMZ.
