Sergio Garcia’s LIV Golf team uniforms are horrible; needs new apparel after U.S. Open

Sergio Garcia had a great week at the U.S. Open. He started the tournament with a 1-under 69 and then shot two 1-over 71s to advance through the cut and stay in contention for the win all weekend.

But what Garcia wore this week was something to behold. Garcia’s captain Fireball GCThe LIV golf team includes Mexican Abraham Ancel, Spaniard Eugenio Chacara and David Puig, so he wore the team uniform throughout the championships at Pinehurst II.

Players can wear whatever they want or whatever an apparel sponsor chooses.

But one thing can be said from Garcia’s performance this week: his Fireballs GC team needs new uniforms.

On Thursday, Garcia appeared wearing a bright red shirt and white cap with the team’s logo on the chest and cap.

His first-round outfit wasn’t terrible, at least compared to what he wore over the next few days, but it was still noticeable: He wore a similar outfit for the final round on Sunday.

But his attire for the first and final rounds paled in comparison to his outfit on Friday, when Garcia pulled out bright red slacks, similar in color to the shirt he wore on Thursday, pairing them with a white shirt with the Fireballs GC logo and a white hat.

Then on Saturday, Garcia decided to ditch the red altogether and opt for a different color.

He paired a bright yellow shirt with white pants and completed his look with a black hat.

Of course, Garcia’s yellow shirt immediately brought back memories of when he wore it in the final round of the 2006 British Open, when he finished tied for fifth while Tiger Woods won at Royal Liverpool, and then a year later when Garcia lost in a playoff to Padraig Harrington at Carnoustie.

He probably won’t get that close in the second round at Pinehurst this year, but he still put in a respectable performance this week. Garcia has earned a spot as the first alternate thanks to his strong play in the final qualifying round.

This week also marked an incredible 24th consecutive U.S. Open appearance for the 2017 Masters champion, but his outfit is anything but, and presumably his Fireballs GC team will be getting new uniforms in time for the British Open.
