There are reports suggesting that Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show may be wrapping up, with insiders claiming he wants to reaffirm his status as a top interviewer.
Sources indicate that Stern, who often refers to himself as the King of All Media, is contemplating a shift to video streaming. His hefty $500 million contract may soon be a thing of the past.
“If he signs with Sirius again or another platform, it will likely be his final contract,” a source mentioned. “And if Sirius doesn’t renew, he’s got a backup plan. He’s not about to let anyone dictate his next steps, especially not at this stage of his career.”
There’s speculation that Stern, now 71, could move to streaming services like Netflix or HBO Max.
Last year, HBO showcased a two-hour interview with rock icon Bruce Springsteen, conducted by Stern.
Some sources have noted that Stern feels “pressured” by the uncertainty about his future.
“Howard has his preferences and might be discontent with how things are evolving, but that’s part of who he is,” the source added. “He doesn’t attribute his situation to his age, instead acknowledging the significant changes in the world and within himself. If he hadn’t adapted, he would have been finished long ago.”

Stern’s audience has reportedly dwindled from 20 million down to about 125,000 daily listeners.
At the same time, some writers from Stern’s show have hinted they may be seeking new opportunities after its conclusion.
“Most of us are kind of in limbo. It’s uncertain whether he recognizes he’s reached retirement or has opted for it,” said a longtime team member.
Critics argue that Stern’s views may have adjusted since he supported Hillary Clinton during her 2015 campaign against Donald Trump.
