WWE World Heavyweight Championship Vacated

The World Heavyweight Championship was officially vacated on Monday. This followed the announcement by WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce that Seth Rollins sustained an injury while in Australia.

Rollins had recently triumphed over Cody Rhodes in a Champion vs. Champion match during the Crown Jewel event. However, after that match, he was attacked by Bron Breaker and Bronson Reed on Monday Night Raw.

There have been suggestions from Paul Heyman implying that Rollins may have a shoulder injury. His timeline for returning remains uncertain, but several reports hint that he might be back before WrestleMania 42 next year. Interestingly, he didn’t show up on “Monday Night Raw” to formally relinquish the title; Breaker actually held it out on his behalf.

Pearce mentioned that a battle royal would take place later in the evening, but noted that Breaker and Reed would not be permitted to enter. The victor will go on to face CM Punk for the now-vacant championship in the main event on November 1st. Punk secured his title shot after winning a triple threat match against LA Knight and Jey Uso the previous week.

AJ Styles, John Cena, and others had previously commented on the developments surrounding the championship. In the battle royal, Usso and Knight remained competitive until the end.

In a dramatic twist, as Knight fought Jey Uso near the ropes, Jimmy Uso swooped in to help his brother, which set off a series of eliminations. Ultimately, Jey Uso managed to eliminate both his brother and Knight and secured his chance at the title, to the dismay of his twin.

As it stands, Punk and The Usos will vie for the vacant championship, raising questions about their dynamics and whether The Vision will still loom large in the background as they approach Saturday night’s main event.
