On Thanksgiving Eve, seven individuals were shot across three boroughs in New York City within just four hours, according to police reports.
The violence reportedly kicked off around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, with two teenagers fatally shot at the intersection of Fulton and Jay streets in downtown Brooklyn.
An 18-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg while a woman of the same age was hit in her right leg, authorities stated.
Both victims were taken to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and are reportedly in stable condition.
The situation escalated around 9:40 p.m. when two men, aged 22 and 23, were shot near the Grand Concourse in the Bronx. The older man was struck in the left leg, while the younger man was hit in the right thigh.
Like the previous case, both were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital and were listed in stable condition.
Then, at around 11:15 p.m., a 24-year-old man was grazed on the head by masked assailants in Queens. The shooting took place on 30th Drive near Vernon Boulevard, resulting in injuries to the victim.
This man was taken to Mount Sinai Queens by private means and is also in stable condition.
The suspects, described as wearing disguises, allegedly fled the scene in a black Jeep. Shortly after, there was another shooting in a Bronx deli, which resulted in two additional injuries.
A 22-year-old man was shot in the shoulder, and a 25-year-old woman received a gunshot wound to her torso inside Yaya Deli Grocery on Melrose Avenue around 11:20 p.m. Both were taken to Lincoln Medical Center and are stable.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities are still investigating the motives behind these incidents.
