The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that multiple deputies lost their lives following an explosion at the East Los Angeles Special Operations Bureau on Friday morning. According to sources, the blast occurred at the Biscailuz Training Center around 7:25 a.m. local time, resulting in the deaths of at least three sheriff’s deputies. However, the identities of those who were killed have not been officially released yet.

Reports indicate that the explosion may have happened while deputies were in the process of moving weapons on-site at the training facility. An ambulance was called to the scene for the injured, prompting an evacuation of the facility, as noted by the LA County fire department. The FBI has also confirmed its involvement in the response to this incident.

California Attorney General Pam Bondy commented on the situation, referring to it as a “horrifying incident” and expressing condolences to the families of the deceased. He mentioned speaking with a federal attorney about the tragic event and indicated that federal agents are on the site gathering more details.

The Governor’s Office of Emergency Services is in close communication with the sheriff’s department and is actively monitoring the situation, providing full support from the state.
