On Saturday night, police reported that multiple individuals were stabbed on a train in the UK. The incident occurred in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, just before 8 PM local time. Officials stated that ten people were injured and two men were taken into custody.
The Cambridgeshire Police revealed that they received calls about the stabbings at around 7:39 PM. Armed officers responded quickly, stopping the train at Huntingdon station, where the suspects were arrested. Several victims were then transported to the hospital.
Huntingdon is situated approximately 30 miles northwest of Cambridge and around 120 miles north of London.
Ben Obise Jekuti, the local Member of Parliament, acknowledged the situation on social media, expressing concern for the victims and seeking more information about the incident. He conveyed his thoughts and support for those affected.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer also commented on the attack, labeling it as a deeply troubling event. He thanked emergency responders and urged residents to heed police guidance.
Local football clubs shared their condolences, stating their thoughts were with the victims and their families. Huntingdon Town FC expressed their support for emergency services affected by the attack, highlighting community solidarity in a challenging time.
