Several injured when monster truck called ‘Crushstation’ hits power line

On Saturday, a jumping vehicle known as a “crash station” struck power lines at a monster truck show in Maine, dragging a pole carrying live power lines down onto spectators and injuring several spectators.

Shocking video from Topsham Fairgrounds shows the moment the truck ran down the runway, hit a ramp and became airborne. According to News Center Maine.

Before the crowd had time to marvel at the flying metal lobster, the truck crashed into an electrical wire in the ring.

The impact caused utility poles with power lines to topple onto people fleeing from falling trees, power lines and transformers.

The man appears to be hit by one of the pillars which broke in half and can be seen falling to the ground.

The falling electric wire almost wrapped around the neck of a boy who was being held by an adult, but the adult managed to grab the child and avoid the danger.

Several people were seen pulling a man in a wheelchair and a small child away, who were just a few feet from the falling power lines.

Topsham Police said several people suffered minor injuries during the incident and two of the injured were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the monster truck at the crash station was not among the injured.

Police said the investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Saturday’s show was part of a two-day event hosted by Renegade Monster Truck Tours.

The show’s organizers did not immediately respond to The Washington Post’s request for comment.
