Sexist HuffPost Smears Taylor Swift for Being Competitive

The sexist, far-left Huffington Post called Taylor Swift “Anti-feministShe was criticized for being “too competitive with other female musicians.”

In other news, HuffPost is still open for business.

“Fans accuse Taylor Swift of being anti-feminist,” read one sexist headline.

“Girls are giving Ms. Swift exaggerated sidelong glances — and with very good reason,” the sexist subheading read.

Here’s what the sexist whining bullies are whining about…

Swift released her latest album in April. Angry Poets CategoryOf course, the album sold huge numbers of copies, downloads, streams, or whatever you call it these days.

Shortly after, Billie Eilish announced that she would be releasing a new album on May 17th.

So what did Swift do? The day before Eilish’s May 17 release, Swift released three new editions. Struggling Poets Category, This meant that Eilish’s album never reached number one.

It gets better…

Charli XCX album Brat On the heels of the song dominating the UK charts, Swift has released six new versions. The suffering poets Released exclusively in the UK, it took the #1 spot from poor Charlie XCX (no idea who that was).

HuffPost has some pompous, stilted deep thoughts on all of this.

It’s unfortunate that Taylor Swift appears to be trying to stop Charlie XCX and Billie Eilish from reaching the top of the charts. Given Swift’s enormous stature in the music world, it feels unnecessary and somewhat selfish to use such tactics to continue her rise to the top. She has already accomplished so much and has a huge fan base that ensures her success.

One would think that Swift would celebrate and embrace new talent, not try to hide in their shadow. She should enjoy the success she has and focus on supporting emerging artists. In doing so, we can foster a more inclusive and supportive music industry where everyone has a fair chance in the spotlight.

By the way, this was written by a man.

This absurd mindset is one of the reasons why entertainment today is objectively terrible. Most movies are terrible. Most TV is either terrible or Law & Order (Procedural). The music industry is almost dead. Why? Because instead of a fierce, cold-blooded competition that demands you be great if you want to survive and stand out, people whine about being “fair” and “inclusive” and “selfish.”

Of course, Taylor Swift’s talent has a lot to do with her success, but there are plenty of talented people out there that you’ve never heard of because they lack something else Swift has: her obsessive drive to stay on top and her unbeatable work ethic.

Forget songwriting and concerts… Purely as a business woman, Taylor Swift is truly a force of nature. She’s not just selling music, she’s making history, achieving immortality through her accomplishments, and selling more music and concert tickets than any other person, man or woman. She wants it all, and her pursuit of it is the best example she can set for America.

And what’s terrible about this Huffington Post article is… if Swift had done the same thing to trash a male musician, Huffington Post would have been screaming, “SLAY, QUEEEEEEE!”

Now let me talk about sexism…

If you want to talk about the ruthlessness of the music industry…read about Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, John Lennon…

But no one would tell you to abandon the benchmark to help the Brotherhood.

I don’t have much of a connection to Taylor Swift or her music, but I have nothing but respect for her instincts, competitive spirit and tenacity in an industry that chews up musicians and spits them out like day-old bubblegum, especially in the post-Napster era.

Want to improve and save the music industry? Encourage everyone to be as ruthlessly competitive and ambitious as Swift, and everyone will level up. Is that bad for the art or the industry?
