Shai Gilgeous-Alexander emerged as a pivotal player for the Oklahoma City Thunder after they traded Paul George to the Los Angeles Clippers prior to the 2019-20 season. The Thunder celebrated a remarkable Game 7 triumph over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night, with Gilgeous-Alexander playing a crucial role. He logged 29 points and 12 assists in a decisive 103-91 win. His strong performance throughout the series earned him the Bill Russell MVP trophy, marking him as the NBA Finals MVP. Notably, he had scored 38 points in a Game 1 loss and contributed 31 points in Game 5 as the Thunder pushed the Pacers to the edge.

The Thunder concluded the season with a remarkable 68-14 record, the best in the NBA. This championship is the team’s first since relocating from Seattle, where the Supersonics last won in 1979.
