Shannon Sharp denied the rape allegations filed against him in a civil lawsuit filed Sunday, claiming that his lawyers presented Sharp’s accusers with a “secretly recorded” and “heavyly edited” video.
Sharp, 56, is being sued for $50 million by a woman under the pseudonym “Jane Do,” which accused the current personality of ESPN of sexually assaulting her in late 2024 and early 2025.
“Mr. Sharp has defied all allegations of coercion or misconduct, particularly the serious lie of “rape” – and will not submit to anything that is deemed a malicious attempt to intimidate,” Sharp’s lawyer, Lanny J. Davis, said in a statement that Sharp shared on his X account. “He stands firmly in the truth and is ready to fight these false claims vigorously in court.”
Davis claims that Sharp’s accuser “refused to provide Sharp’s legal team with a full copy of the unedited recording.”
The statement was sent to Sharp by his accuser, who was essentially graphic and widely demonstrated his desire for a relationship with Sharp.
“The evidence draws a clear picture. It was a consensual adult relationship that included role-playing, sexual language and fantasy scenarios,” said Jane Daw.
Doe accused Sharpe of threatening to kill her multiple times.
“Once upon a time, he was screaming at her while the firearms were visible in his room,” says Doe’s complaints, represented by Tony Buzby. “Fearing her safety, the plaintiff tried to share her location with a friend on her iPhone – just in case. However, Sharp saw her doing this.
Doe also accused Sharpe of recording the two engaged in sexual acts without her knowledge and sharing the video with her friends without her consent.
“Defendant Shannon Sharp is a man used to getting what he wants, and has failed to fully understand this basic concept. After manipulating and controlling the plaintiff for months, he repeatedly threatens and repeatedly threatens to slap him, a woman over 30 years of age than him.
A pro football hall of fame, Sharp currently works in the “First Take” program at ESPN and has multiple podcasts. He appeared on “First Take” on Monday.
