Shannon Sharpe responds to Jaguars player Travis Hunter's wife after her indirect comments.

On Sunday, Jacksonville Jaguars player Travis Hunter made history by being the first NFL athlete in nearly a quarter-century to both catch a touchdown and make an interception in the same game.

Taking this moment to voice her thoughts, Hunter’s wife, Leanna Lenee, had a few choice words for NFL legend and broadcaster Shannon Sharpe, whom she feels has been critical of her husband.

In an Instagram story during the game, she posted: “Anyways… @shannonsharpe84 When you speak about my husband make sure you put ‘TWO WAY’ player in front.”

Her comments suggest she’s not happy with what Sharpe has previously said regarding Hunter’s capabilities.

Later that evening, Sharpe addressed her remarks on his “Night Cap” show. He stated, “We’ve been abundantly clear that the likelihood of him playing every snap, every down, on both sides of the ball isn’t gonna happen.”

Sharpe elaborated that Hunter primarily played on defense and participated in limited offensive plays during the game, pointing out, “He played nine snaps [on offense against the Texans]. That’s all we said!”

He acknowledged Leanna’s feelings as her husband’s defender, but maintained that his comments were accurate, emphasizing, “All I ever said was that he’s not playing every snap, on every down, on both sides of the ball. I believe he’s an every-down corner, and then you sprinkle him in packages.”

It appears that Sharpe stands by his previous statements, feeling that the criticism leveled at him wasn’t entirely justified.
