Knicks: Ready for the Challenge Ahead?
After their impressive 144-114 blowout against the 76ers, the Knicks now brace themselves for the upcoming Eastern Conference Finals. The “Inside the NBA” team took to discussing Mike Brown’s squad and their potential journey to the Finals.
The Knicks are set to face either the Cavaliers or the Pistons. However, Kenny Smith pointedly mentioned, “It’s going to get real for the Knicks next round. Cleveland and the Pistons have posed challenges this season.”
Interestingly, Kenny suggested that the coming matchup might remind fans of the Knicks’ recent series against the Hawks, which they managed to win in six games.
Shaquille O’Neal, however, expressed more confidence in the Knicks. He believes no team in the East can rival them now, especially after their momentum shifted dramatically following a 2-1 deficit against Atlanta. “They proved they’re ready,” he stated, adding that if they maintain their current form, they might easily advance past their next opponent.
Meanwhile, Charles Barkley stated that the Knicks’ route to the Eastern Conference Finals seemed relatively easy, criticizing the Hawks for not being adequately prepared and pointing out the 76ers’ injury woes.
Barkley also commented, “Whoever we face next will be a tough challenge.” But O’Neal jumped in, asserting, “The Knicks are going to the finals.”
In their last game, the Knicks exhibited a dominant performance, tying their record by sinking 25 three-pointers in a single playoff game.
Moreover, they’ve recorded the highest point differential (+194) in playoff history after their first ten games, surpassing the impressive record set by the 2017 Golden State Warriors.
As they await the winner of the Cavaliers-Pistons series—currently led by Detroit 2-1—the Knicks are ready to face whatever challenge lies ahead.
