Sharon Osbourne Shares Last Words with Ozzy Before His Passing
Sharon Osbourne recently opened up about the last words exchanged with her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, as she copes with his death after 43 years of marriage. During an emotional appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Sharon, 73, recounted her final moments with Ozzy, who passed away from a heart attack in June at the age of 76.
She described how Ozzy had been feeling unwell throughout the night before waking her up at 4:30 a.m. “He said, ‘Get up.’ [I said] ‘I’m already awake, you woke me up,’ ” Sharon remembered. “He then asked me to ‘Kiss me’ and ‘Hold me tight.’” Those heartfelt requests were the last words she heard from him before his passing later that morning.
Sharon explained that Ozzy had followed his usual routine on the day he died, even getting in a 20-minute workout before collapsing. When she heard screams coming from downstairs, she rushed down to find him unresponsive. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, she instinctively knew he was gone. “I knew right away that he was gone,” she recalled, filled with a sense of grief and regret about their last exchange.
“I wish I had told him I loved him more. I wish I had held him tighter,” she said, struggling to hold back tears.
Morgan pointed out how the couple had known each other for over 55 years. Sharon first met Ozzy as a teenager when she visited her father’s office, where he managed Black Sabbath. However, their relationship didn’t turn romantic until years later, after she took over managing his solo career.
Sharon recalled how Ozzy had shared with her vivid dreams he experienced in his final week, meeting people he didn’t recognize. “He knew. He was ready,” she commented, reflecting on his state of mind before his death.
Just two weeks prior, Ozzy had reunited with Black Sabbath for a farewell concert in England that marked an emotional send-off for the rock icon. Seated on a throne adorned with skull and bat motifs, Ozzy performed classics like “Crazy Train,” expressing deep gratitude to the audience. “You have no idea how I feel,” he said, thanking fans from the bottom of his heart.
Sharon mentioned that Ozzy faced several health issues in the past year, including pneumonia and sepsis. Even with medical advice strongly urging against it, Ozzy insisted on performing one last time, despite being in pain. After the concert, she noted a visible change in his demeanor, saying he seemed happier than he had in years.
In a lighthearted moment, Sharon recounted a conversation about whether Ozzy might consider remarrying. “Can you imagine marrying someone else?” she said she told him, to which she firmly declared, “Never. Oh my god. No, never. Never. Never.” Following his passing, Sharon expressed the family’s sorrow in a statement, asking for privacy during this difficult time.
The couple had three children: daughters Kelly and Amy and son Jack, and co-starred on the reality show “The Osbournes” from 2002 to 2005. Ozzy also had children from his first marriage, making his family connections extensive and treasured.
