‘Shazaam’ Star Zachary Levi Calls on Hollywood’s Closeted Trump Supports to Speak Out: ‘It’s Now or Never’

Actor Zachary Levi (shazam, chuck) called on “cryptoconservatives” in Hollywood to speak out after publicly supporting former President Donald Trump.

Levi shared his views on Instagram Live on Sunday, in which he addressed the recent allegations. The View In it, co-host Whoopi Goldberg called Hollywood a “right-leaning city.” Mr. Levi disagreed, saying that dozens of industry figures had privately messaged him about their fear of publicly announcing their support for Mr. Trump.

“There are a lot of people in my industry in Hollywood who are afraid to publicly say they're going to vote for Donald Trump or be conservative in any way. They send me a lot of messages, by the way. I’m here.” Levi said. “That's why you don't see them. That's why it's less prevalent and less obvious because they know that this kind of shit has negative effects.”

So Levi called on these conservatives to unite and raise their voices.

“Anyway, my shoutout to all you out there, all you closeted conservatives, all you closeted Trump supporters, it’s now or never, folks, you know what I mean?” Levi said. “Do whatever you think you need to do. If you need to come out in public and say it, if you don't think you can say it yet, don't say it. I will pressure you to do it. I don't mean to, but if what you fear is a backlash from an industry that doesn't exist right away, don't let that hold you back.”

As Breitbart News recently reported, Levi said his support for Trump was based on former president Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s support. He said his family was Christian conservatives who were Kennedy Democrats, but then converted to Reagan Republicans.

“My parents were Kennedy Democrats and then became Reagan Republicans,” Levi said. “And they taught me to have a healthy level of distrust in government and a healthy level of distrust in an industry that is out of control.”

Levi didn't leave the event without mentioning how supporting Trump is tantamount to “career suicide.”

“When I came out, I said I supported President Trump by supporting Tulsi and Bobby. … In my industry, as you can probably imagine, Hollywood is a very, very liberal city, and this “I'm glad to be able to do that with you all, because that would very likely amount to career suicide,” he said.
