Former British Model Aims for Hollywood After Overcoming Cancer
A former British model, Kate Tickle, is setting her sights on Hollywood after a harrowing brush with breast cancer. Her journey took a strange turn last year when she experienced a vivid dream about finding a lump in her body, prompting her to visit a doctor.
“The dream felt so real,” she recalls, leading her to seek medical advice. While doctors couldn’t initially confirm cancer, Tickle felt compelled to continue seeking answers.
“They couldn’t feel anything, but I insisted on getting a mammogram, and that’s when they discovered an issue,” she explained. Since 2019, she has been married to British record producer David Tickle.
After her diagnosis, Tickle underwent chemotherapy. Just a few months later, in May, she received exciting news from Hollywood.
She landed a role as the personal assistant to a renowned fashion designer who sadly passed away last September at the age of 91, in the upcoming film “Armani: The King of Fashion.”
“Never stop dreaming. Cancer can alter your past, but it shouldn’t diminish your hope for the future,” Tickle stated.
She acknowledges Andrea Iervolino for helping her find new purpose. “After sharing my story with Andrea and my desire to inspire my four sons and others facing similar challenges, he was eager to help,” she noted.
Cancer first touched her life nearly three decades ago when her brother Chris was diagnosed with leukemia in 1997, prompting a vital search for a bone marrow donor. Tickle, only 14 at the time, turned out to be the perfect match, and after bravely undergoing the transplant, her brother recovered.
Her courage earned her the Courage Award from the House of Commons, and she transformed into a passionate advocate for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust.
Now cancer-free and vibrant, Tickle hopes to encourage others grappling with similar situations. “I want people to realize that even in the face of cancer or any life-changing circumstances, they can continue believing in a future filled with joy,” she expressed. “We are stronger than we often think.”
