Actor James Woods joins growing public criticism of Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Christine Crowley for her handling of out-of-control wildfires in the Pacific Palisades and other parts of the county. He said promoting DEI within the department is a priority.
James Woods, who said he had evacuated his home, slammed Crowley in a series of X posts.
“Refilling the reservoir would have been a welcome priority, but I think she went too far in promoting diversity,” the actor wrote. He included a screenshot of Crowley's profile on LAFD's official website, stating her priorities. Creating, supporting, and promoting a culture of diversity, inclusion, and equity,” or DEI.
Crowley gained attention from the left in 2022 as the department's first LGBT and female chief.
Woods also decried the left's ill-conceived attempt to blame climate change for California's persistent wildfires, pointing to mismanagement in the Democratic-controlled state, especially when it comes to reservoirs.
Former Los Angeles mayoral candidate Rick Caruso claimed Wednesday that there is no water coming out of fire hydrants in the Pacific Palisades area, accusing the local government of mismanaging resources like a “Third World country.” did.
As reported by Breitbart News, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (Democratic), who was on a visit to Ghana, Africa, said that she would withdraw funds from the city's fire department budget for this fiscal year when large parts of the city were engulfed in fires. This resulted in savings of nearly $20 million. He also proposed further rate cuts.
