Colorado State football two-way star Travis Hunter won the coveted Heisman Trophy on December 14th.
But the days since have been filled with controversy, as the college football star's relationship with his fiancée, Leanna Rennie, has come under the microscope. Some fans criticized Renee over her actions in a video that circulated online.
Hunter's teammate Sheduar Sanders then decided to address the controversy. The Buffaloes quarterback suggested that critics should stop focusing on the personal lives of wide receivers and defensive backs.
“Athletes, entertainers, artists, if you're serious about reaching out to Trav, you know how to get in touch with him or anyone around you.” Mr. Sanders wrote about Xon sunday. “Right now, you're just posting to make the algorithm look cool.”

At least one social media video showed Rennie sitting in his seat shortly after Hunter was named the 2024 Heisman winner. Then NFL icon and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders appeared and asked Renee to stand up. In the end, Lenny briefly hugged Hunter before quickly sitting back down to a standing ovation from the audience.
Hunter and Linney's engagement was publicly confirmed earlier this year.

Other video footage showed Renee remaining seated while Hunter greeted fans and posed for photos at an event in New York City the day after the Heisman ceremony. Some fans tried to analyze Reenie's attitude when attending the event and even suggested that she might be irritated.
Hunter said of the situation: Twitch live streamHis fiancée said he cried himself to sleep and consumed alcohol as a result of the reaction.

“You know it hurts just to cry yourself to sleep,” Hunter said, adding that she didn't want Renee to “sleep sad” after drinking.
“I know what I got. I know my girlfriend. My girlfriend has been with me for five years,” Hunter said. “You guys are just starting to talk about me and be with me. Come on, dude.”

Last week, Renee addressed the criticism on TikTok.
“People say I'm like, 'What do I do? Just sit here?'” she said in response to the clip on Dec. 16. “First of all, that's not what I said.”
on monday, TMZ reported Hunter has decided to deactivate his Instagram account. Hunter has not yet released details about his decision.

Hunter is expected to be one of the first players taken in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, he is still expected to play in the Alamo Bowl against BYU.
