Chedur Sanders Responds to Criticism
On Wednesday, Chedur Sanders made quite a statement—well, sort of. He transitioned from quarterback to mime, capturing attention for his silent response.
The reason for this peculiar moment came to light as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Sanders was sniffing but remained silent, which piqued curiosity.
On Monday’s “Get Up,” Ryan openly criticized Sanders, calling his behavior “embarrassing” amid the discussion about potential changes at quarterback for the Browns.
As Schefter noted, Sanders’s mime act was a direct reaction to comments made by ESPN analyst Rex Ryan, who had previously criticized the rookie quarterback.
Interestingly, despite being anticipated as a possible first overall pick, Sanders slipped to the fifth round in the 2025 NFL Draft. The son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders expressed confidence in his abilities when he mentioned on ESPN Cleveland that he believes he possesses significant talent for the NFL.
“I think if I look at the current quarterback play, I can do better than that,” Sanders stated, which Ryan didn’t take lightly.
In response to Sanders’s assertions, Ryan commented, “There’s something missing with this kid. Sure, he talks a big game, but actions, you know?” He emphasized the need for Sanders to step up and focus seriously on his career.
Meanwhile, with the Browns sitting at 1-3 this season, they are making shifts at quarterback for their upcoming game against the Vikings, but Sanders doesn’t seem to be moving from his third-string position.
After the Browns confirmed their quarterbacking decision on Wednesday, Sanders kept his responses vague, almost as if he was caught in a silent act. When approached by media about the choice not to backup Flacco, head coach Kevin Stefanski sidestepped the question, stating, “My focus is on this game. There are two Joes.”
