As if things couldn’t be any more weird for Shedure Sanders during the 2025 NFL Draft, the quarterback prospect fell victim to a mischievous caller pretending to be the team’s representative while streaming live on Twitch.
Since he dropped out of the first round, all eyes were in Sanders – then second and third on Friday nights – and appeared to have prey on the hopes of a Colorado product to be chosen after getting his number.
A clip from that moment showed his brother, Shiro, talking to the camera.
Sanders called, started talking to the other side with his family and friends with his camera, and it got crowded around him, with a huge smile on his face, thinking this was the moment he was waiting for.
“I’m fine, I’ve been waiting for you,” Sanders said.
But things quickly changed when the caller told Sanders when Sanders said, “We’ve got to wait a little longer.”
He could hear people around him asking, “What does that mean?”
“I don’t know what it is,” Sanders added. “But no one has this number.”
The confusion quickly spread across the group in the clip.
The Twitch stream eventually ended and no recordings were displayed in Sanders’ streaming account.
Sanders has made three rounds without hearing his name being called in this year’s draft, but he appears to remain positive towards the end of Friday night.

He appeared briefly on his younger brother Shiro’s Twitch Stream.
Sanders was under intense scrutiny towards the draft and began to see the draft stock collapse, but it was a bit shocking to see him falling into the committee’s draft towards the final day of the draft.
Five quarterbacks were filmed in the draft, Jackson Dart was filmed in the first round, and Tyler Shaff, Jalen Milllow and Dilongabriel were taken on the second day of the draft.
