Shedeur Sanders to Start Again for Browns
Shedeur Sanders is set to make his second NFL start this week as the Cleveland Browns prepare to face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13.
Last Sunday, Sanders led the Browns to a 24-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. While he didn’t have an overwhelming debut, he did manage to throw his first touchdown pass during the game, contributing to the team’s success.
Former NFL quarterback Trent Green, who has a Super Bowl title and two Pro Bowl selections under his belt, praised Sanders’ performance against the Raiders. Green acknowledged that Sanders initially struggled, with only four completions in his previous game against the Baltimore Ravens. But he appreciated Sanders’ resilience and progress.
“It’s impressive to see him bounce back after last week’s performance, which wasn’t great,” Green told reporters. “Young quarterbacks often face this kind of pressure, and how they respond can be telling. I admire his mental toughness; it’s not easy to deliver under those circumstances.”
Green is looking forward to discussing strategy with Sanders in the lead-up to the upcoming game against San Francisco.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski also noted the importance of ongoing improvement. He acknowledged that for any young quarterback, ensuring the team’s operation runs smoothly is essential, and he felt that overall, it was satisfactory.
“Are there areas for improvement? Sure. We’ve had those discussions with him,” Stefanski added. “He has the right mindset to adapt to the game and the defenses he faces.”
