Burglary at Shedeur Sanders’ Home
Shedeur Sanders may have experienced a troubling situation this week, but thankfully, all of his most valuable possessions remained intact after a burglary at his residence.
Earlier this week, three masked individuals broke into Sanders’ home, making off with around $200,000 worth of property. Surprisingly, Sanders remarked that the jewelry he valued was less than a dollar.
In his first comments on the incident, Sanders expressed that he was, well, not too disturbed about the whole thing. “Honestly, I’m in a mental space right now where it’s not too upsetting. And anyway, none of my jewelry was stolen,” he said. “So it just slipped. That’s what happens.”
Since the burglary, his phone has been buzzing nonstop. He admitted that he’s struggled to keep up with the messages, including those from his father, Deion Sanders. When asked about family attendance at an upcoming game against the Las Vegas Raiders, he said that usually, the best way to connect is—guess what?—to show up at the game.
“I talked to Shiloh. Shiloh called me and I said, ‘Brother, if you want to talk now, you guys can fly right over. Come see me, brother. I’m not going to call you. I’m not going to do that. If you want to talk, come to me and we can talk from there,’” Sanders shared. He also added that he hardly checks his phone anymore, overwhelmed by messages asking, “Are you okay?” He reassured everyone, saying, “Yes, I’m okay. I wasn’t robbed, my house was robbed.”
Despite the chaotic situation, Sanders indicated that he felt “great” both mentally and emotionally. He reflected on the adversity life often throws our way, saying, “Things don’t always go to plan, but I can say I’m ready for anything.”
Reports from Officer Charles Johnson detailed that the suspects rummaged through various rooms, using cell phone flashlights to navigate their way. Surveillance video revealed them leaving the house with bags of stolen items before vanishing into nearby woods.
During a recent game against the Browns, Sanders saw action when starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel was sidelined due to a concussion. Though he struggled in his performance, completing 4 out of 16 passes for 47 yards and throwing one interception, he remains focused on what’s ahead.
