Shedeur Sanders shares details about his relationship with Dillon Gabriel.

Future of the Cleveland Browns: Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel

Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel are stepping into roles that could shape the future of the Cleveland Browns. The team selected both quarterbacks during last month’s NFL Draft, where Gabriel’s selection in the third round raised some eyebrows, especially as Sanders continued to drop unexpectedly.

Once viewed as a potential top-three pick, Sanders eventually caught the attention of the Browns in the fifth round.

In what seems like a crowded quarterback situation, the likes of Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, and Kenny Pickett also find themselves vying for positions. You might think that having two highly touted rookies might create some tension, but that doesn’t appear to be the case for Sanders and Gabriel.

According to Sanders, “It was all cool. He’s a cool guy. I appreciate how he deals with challenges, especially when the media gets negative. He stays positive and keeps it together. We have a good rapport.” He even mentioned that they learn from each other.

Gabriel shared similar sentiments during the rookie mini camp, expressing that he is excited to have Sanders as a teammate. “I really love what he brings to the table,” he said while noting that the quarterback room is filled with players from whom they can all learn.

As for who gets the first snaps during camp? Gabriel hinted that head coach Kevin Stefanski hasn’t made those decisions yet, suggesting that training will be a collective effort among all the quarterbacks in the room, including veterans with significant experience.

While it’s clear that the competition for playing time will be intense, Sanders and Gabriel seem prepared to support one another along the way.
