Buffalo’s First Loss of the Season
Shedeur Sanders, the former quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes, expressed confidence in his old team even after they faced their first defeat this season against Georgia Tech.
The Buffaloes lost to the Yellow Jackets with a score of 27-20, as Haynes King engineered a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter. King’s 45-yard touchdown run came with just over a minute left, leaving Colorado unable to respond in the final moments.
This game marked the Buffaloes’ first outing without both Shedeur Sanders and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, who both declared for the NFL Draft after last season.
Sanders is optimistic that the team understands the transition, particularly since his father, Deion Sanders, serves as the head coach. He stated, “They’ll get things done. They have great head coaches,” on social media.
Interestingly, this is the first time Deion Sanders has been without his quarterback son during his coaching career. They previously collaborated in Jackson before moving to Colorado when Sanders took over the Buffaloes.
This season, Coach Prime has turned to Kaidon Salter as the starting quarterback, who contributed a respectable 159 passing yards and a touchdown pass to Dekalon Taylor. Despite the setback, Sanders reassured fans that the team’s spirit remains intact.
Reflecting on the game, Deion Sanders noted, “We might have won the game, we didn’t kick the butt. They ran out the ball. If we take advantage of the opportunity, I feel completely different here and now.”
