Former Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) said he is “not going to rule out” running for the Senate again after losing this year's race.
Speaking to CNN's Manu Raju on Sunday, Brown said he would not rule out another Senate campaign or the 2026 Ohio gubernatorial race.
The outgoing Ohio senator lost to Republican businessman Bernie Moreno in one of the nation's most turbulent recent elections that have upset several Democratic incumbents.
After his loss, Brown told Politico that he is “not ruling anything out” as another Ohio senator, J.D. Vance (R-Pa.), prepares to step down and become vice president.
brown reflected He described the Democratic Party's defeat and suggested that the party had lost its message to working-class voters on the issues that matter to them. President-elect Trump and the Republican Party said they campaigned on issues that distracted from what Democrats were trying to say.
Mr. Brown has represented Ohio in the Senate since 2007.
Mr. Moreno, who built a successful network of car dealerships across the state, initially trailed Mr. Brown, but later gained support from Mr. Trump, who led him to victory.
Brown said he really thought he would win after campaigning on the ground Sunday and seeing the encouraging response from Ohioans.
