Shia LaBeouf Arrested in New Orleans During Mardi Gras

Shia LaBeouf was reportedly arrested on Tuesday in New Orleans following a chaotic brawl during Mardi Gras festivities. According to videos shared by TMZ, the actor, who was without a shirt at the time, received medical attention after the incident.

LaBeouf faces two counts of simple battery and is currently being held without bond in Louisiana. His court appearance is set for Tuesday at 3 p.m. local time. The details surrounding the brawl, including what triggered it and who else was involved, remain unclear.

Eyewitnesses noted that LaBeouf had been enjoying the Mardi Gras celebrations since Thursday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he was seen partaking in the festivities, sometimes without cash on hand. Footage showed him celebrating without a shirt on several occasions.

A bartender from Ms Mae’s, a local bar, mentioned that earlier in the week, LaBeouf had been friendly and engaging with fans, even posing for photographs. “He was so nice on Thursday,” the bartender remarked.

However, behavior seemed to shift as the days progressed. On Sunday, LaBeouf was reportedly asked to put his shirt back on while partying, and he complied quickly. A bartender who had served him earlier observed, “He is terrorizing the city!”

Robert Skuse, a doorman at Ms Mae’s, recounted an incident where LaBeouf collided with a door while in an “inebriated” state, describing him as somewhat disruptive amid the Bacchus parade. Skuse noted that LaBeouf even resorted to the line “Do you know who I am?” during this encounter.

Reports suggest that LaBeouf attempted to play the role of a “celebrity bartender” at Ms Mae’s, despite signs indicating that cash was preferred for transactions. Bartender Kyle Catarouch mentioned that LaBeouf repeatedly inquired about using his credit card despite the clear cash-only policy.

Prior to his arrest, LaBeouf was believed to be renting a luxury Airbnb in the Uptown area of New Orleans.
