Shia LaBeouf Arrested in New Orleans
Shia LaBeouf was arrested in New Orleans early Tuesday morning, facing two counts of simple assault. This information has been confirmed by local authorities.
The New Orleans Police Department reported that officers responded to a call at around 12:45 a.m. regarding an assault involving two male victims in the vicinity of Royal Street.
LaBeouf, 39, was allegedly acting disruptively at a local establishment, prompting staff to ask him to leave. During this process, he reportedly “pushed his fist at the victim several times,” according to the police statement.
Witnesses indicated that LaBeouf left the scene but then returned, escalating the situation further. Several individuals attempted to subdue him outside the store, but he reportedly continued to act aggressively.
At one point, LaBeouf allegedly punched the same victim again, and even struck another individual in the nose.
Eventually, LaBeouf was detained until officers arrived. He was taken to a hospital for unspecified injuries and later arrested, charged with two counts of simple assault.
A video showed LaBeouf shirtless and being cared for by emergency medical services before his transportation to the hospital.
There were no additional details provided, and a representative for LaBeouf did not respond immediately to inquiries.
This incident marks another chapter in LaBeouf’s history with the law; he was previously arrested for battery and theft in June 2020. Following that incident, he avoided jail but was required to attend anger management therapy and submit to alcohol monitoring.
LaBeouf has claimed in interviews that he is on a path to recovery. He stated that he had been sober for over 600 days and spoke about his conversion to Catholicism, emphasizing his struggles with personal issues, including allegations of abusive behavior during past relationships.
In a lawsuit, his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs alleged severe emotional and physical abuse during their time together, which she described as relentless. She provided several troubling details about their relationship dynamic, although LaBeouf has denied many of these claims.
In July 2025, Twigs settled her lawsuit against him.
