Shilo Sanders shares his experience of being released by the Buccaneers.

Shilo Sanders is still with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, despite some confusion around his status.

As the middle child of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, Shilo clarified on Instagram that his situation doesn’t signify the end of his NFL aspirations. “First and foremost, I just want to say, I believe in God,” he wrote. “I know God has always had a plan for me… I feel this is part of my story to grow and do bigger and better things. Whether that’s finding another team or getting another chance in the NFL, I’m open to it.”

“I had the best time here in Tampa, and it all happened for a reason,” he continued. “I’ve been talking to agents and I’m waiting for the next opportunity. If it’s in the NFL, great, but God has blessed me with talents that go beyond football. For every athlete, there comes a time when the game ends.”

Amidst a preseason match, the Buccaneers released Shilo after an incident where he was ejected from the game.

Shortly after, the team also cut ties with undrafted free agents, including Shilo, although no other teams picked him up.

At 25, Sanders has developed a reputation for aggressive play during his time at the University of Colorado.

He mentioned that he’s exploring alternative paths like music, acting, and modeling.

Shilo also expressed gratitude towards the Buccaneers, humorously noting his fortunate opportunity in light of his younger brother Chedur’s recent draft experience.

“Yes, I know I’m lucky. I saw what happened with Chedur, who didn’t get drafted as expected,” Shilo reflected. “He went from being a probable first-round pick to the fifth round with the Browns.”
