Shiloh, the 19-year-old daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, reveals her new name.

Shiloh, the 19-year-old daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, reveals her new name.

Shiro Jolie introduced her new name during a unique event in Los Angeles earlier this week.

The daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie was at the launch of designer Isabel Maran’s capsule collection Thursday, where she revealed that she has dropped the “Pitt” surname, a change that gained attention in 2024.

In a notable role, Shiro choreographed part of a dance performance at the invite-only gathering, appearing in the credits under the name “Shori.”

This new name is a shortened version of her legal name, which clearly references her well-known mother.

The 19-year-old showcased her talent in a recital that featured dancers Octopus Suzuki and Koeni Rose, set to the song “Naive” by singer Ruela.

The intimate dinner took place at Schindler’s Oliver House in Silver Lake, near LA, and was attended by celebrities including Allison Brie, January Jones, and Rachel Bilson.

A spokesperson for Pitt did reach out for comments about the event.

The siblings had made headlines earlier after they collectively requested on their 18th birthday, in May 2024, to remove their father’s surname.

A judge approved this request in August 2024, allowing Shiro to be legally known as Shiro Nouvelle Jolie.

Interestingly, it seems that she didn’t involve her mother in this process.

“Shiro found her own lawyer and covered the fees herself, so Angie isn’t aware and can’t address it,” sources shared at that time.

In July, Shiro’s lawyer Peter Levine mentioned, “It was a significant decision after a tough situation,” regarding her choice to drop “Pitt” from her name.

Shiro isn’t the only one in the family distancing herself from the “Fight Club” actor through a name change. After a lengthy and challenging custody battle, her sister Zahara Jolie Pitt opted to leave the “Pitt” surname behind as well, revealing her new name, “Zahara Marley Jolie,” during the 2023 Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Introduction Ceremony at Spelman College.

Fans also observed that Shiro’s sister Vivienne appeared as “Vivienne Jolie” in the playbill for “The Outsiders” back in May 2024, having similarly dropped their father’s last name.

In another note, their oldest brother, Maddox, confirmed in 2021 that he doesn’t use the “Pitt” surname in official documents, opting instead for “Jolie.”

Shiro was born in May 2006, followed by twins Knox and Vivienne in July 2008. Pitt had previously adopted Jolie’s children, Maddox and Zahara, before their marriage.

Pitt reportedly feels a mix of sadness and recognition regarding Shiro’s decision to remove his last name.

“He felt immense joy at her birth,” a source mentioned in 2024. “He’s always wanted a daughter.” But it’s not easy for Brad, as it serves as a painful reminder of his distance from his children.

Recently, Pitt acknowledged the complexities of his situation, stating, “My personal life has been in the spotlight for 30 years.” He expressed how it sometimes feels intrusive, stating, “If you let me do that, I don’t know.” Yet, amidst it all, he also shared a sense of peace, feeling secure in his relationships and self-awareness.
