Even after a less-than-stellar postseason in 2026, Shohei Ohtani memorabilia is still commanding astounding prices.
A jersey worn by the Los Angeles Dodgers star during the 2025 season recently sold for $2,055,700 through an auction on The Realest.
According to officials from the auction, this sale sets a new record for a game-used baseball jersey from the 21st century, surpassing the previous high of $1.792 million set by Aaron Judge’s MLB debut uniform.
Ohtani wore this jersey on March 18, 2025, during a game against the Chicago Cubs in the Tokyo Series at the Tokyo Dome.
This particular jersey not only featured the first-ever Gold MLB Logoman patch, but Ohtani also signed it and added inscriptions marking the game’s date and his 2025 National League MVP award.
While Ohtani enjoyed impressive seasons in 2025 and 2026, his performance during the recent playoff run left a lot to be desired. He batted just .192 in eight games, hampered by injuries, hitting only one home run and earning three RBIs.
Despite this, the market for Ohtani’s collectibles remains robust. Scott Keeney, founder and CEO of The Realest, commented that moments captured in items like this jersey can’t be replicated. He emphasized how Ohtani is changing the landscape of collectible sports memorabilia, highlighting the enormous global interest in such historic items.
