Butler County, Pennsylvania District Attorney Richard Goldinger said shots rang out at a rally for former President Trump on Saturday, leaving at least one attendee and a suspected gunman dead.

The Secret Service also statement The suspect reportedly fired multiple shots at the stage where Trump was standing from an “elevated position” outside the venue.

“I think we’re going to have to figure out how he got there,” Goldinger said.

A Secret Service statement said the situation is under investigation and that the agency has notified the FBI.

Secret Service agents rushed Trump off the stage after what sounded like gunfire was heard shortly after the rally began. Trump was surrounded by agents as he was escorted off the outdoor stage. Trump was bleeding above his right ear and shook his fist at the crowd as he was led to an SUV.

Goldinger said he did not yet have any information about the shooter and described the scene as “pandemonium.”
