Shooting at Michigan Church Injures Multiple Victims

A tragic incident unfolded in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, where a gunman opened fire at a Church of Latter Day Saints, leaving several individuals injured, including children. Authorities also reported that the church was set ablaze during the attack.

The shooting occurred on a Sunday, with the assailant injuring 11 people before igniting the fire. Police Chief William Renye confirmed that the suspect, a 40-year-old man from Burton, drove his vehicle into the church’s front doors and began shooting during a large service. “He exited his vehicle and fired several rounds at individuals within the church,” Renye explained at a press briefing.

Genesee County Sheriff Christopher Swanson described the situation, stating, “This is a dynamic scene. There’s a lot happening that we cannot communicate now due to the ongoing work.” However, he assured the community that there was no active threat present.

The shooting prompted responses from notable figures including Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel. Bondi expressed her heartbreak over the violent incident at a place of worship, while Patel condemned the act, calling it cowardly.

Footage from the area revealed thick smoke billowing from the church as first responders arrived. Additionally, former President Donald Trump commented on the shooting, noting that while the suspect was dead, many details remained unclear. He labeled the event as another targeted attack against Christians in the U.S. and highlighted the need for an end to such violence.

This situation continues to develop, and further updates will follow as more information becomes available.
