Shots fired outside a Fresno Airbnb during a rap music video shoot

A chaotic incident erupted during a rap video shoot at a California Airbnb in the early hours of Sunday when some uninvited guests were turned away.

The shooting occurred around 2:24 a.m. near Fulton Street and Dennett Avenue in Fresno’s Tower District, with at least ten gunshots reported.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the location was being used for a music video when the denied individuals departed and opened fire, hitting a nearby business on Fulton Ave. It seems there was a back-and-forth exchange of gunfire.

No injuries have been reported so far, and authorities continue to investigate. They’re also reviewing any previous incidents reported at that location, which is always a part of their standard procedure.

Surveillance footage captured two groups in a heated argument outside the residence, moments before one individual discharged a weapon, resulting in damage to two businesses.

One business owner discovered a bullet on the floor and a bullet hole in the wall of her nail studio upon arriving on Sunday. Another establishment had to board up its window due to the damage.

This event comes shortly after another incident in the Tower District, where two people were severely injured in gunfire outside a nightclub about a week ago.

During that occurrence, police in the vicinity detected nine gunshots while people were participating in a Halloween-themed “zombie crawl” event outside MIA Nightclub.

Fresno’s Mayor, Jerry Dyer, had recently announced enhanced safety measures on October 21, which include increased police patrols and improved street lighting conditions.

“We don’t want any violence… we’re all in this together, and we have zero tolerance for violence in the Tower,” stated the mayor.

Reflecting on the past year’s incidents, there were 128 shooting events recorded in Fresno around the same time. Surprisingly, the current year has already seen 132 reported incidents.
