Shotzi Blackheart is set to participate in various independent wrestling events in the upcoming months after leaving WWE, where she spent nearly six years. During an appearance on “Ariel Helwani’s show” this past Tuesday, she shared her interest in different wrestling promotions, expressing her admiration for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Impact Wrestling.
She elaborated on why AEW stands out for her, stating, “For so many reasons. I love their freedom. I have a lot of friends doing really remarkable things there. Also, I’ve heard great things about how Tony Khan treats the talent.” It’s interesting, she added, “because hot girls can meet each other,” which gives a bit of a playful tone to her thoughts.
On the subject of relationships within the wrestling world, she referenced a moment where AEW stars Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa shared a kiss after their match at Double or Nothing last month. Storm is currently preparing for an upcoming AEW Women’s Championship clash against Mercedes Monet.
Shodzia, also known as Ashley Urbanski, mentioned her fondness for her time in WWE. “I want to go back to WWE,” she admitted. “I enjoyed working there, though I wasn’t always happy. The only times I felt down were when I wasn’t utilized, but the moments I was in action, I loved it. The locker room vibe was fantastic.” She initially joined WWE through the “Tough Enough” challenge in 2015 and spent time in the NXT brand until she transitioned to the main roster in 2019.
Throughout her time with WWE, Shotzi was recognized as the NXT women’s tag team champion and earned the title of 2020 NXT Breakout Star of the Year. It’s a mix of nostalgia and excitement as she embarks on this new chapter.
