Bitcoin and Tron Trends in 2025

In 2025, Bitcoin continues to captivate investors, holding strong even after reaching a six-figure value at the end of 2024. This performance has sparked hopes for an Altcoin season, which some might view as a bit optimistic.

However, the Altcoin arena has already showcased notable performers this year. Tron (TRX) stands out, with prices climbing roughly 25% since January, according to recent data from Coingecko.

TRX Performance Relative to Bitcoin

On July 26, Joao Wedson, the CEO and founder of Alphractal, took to the social media platform X to delve into the movements of Bitcoin and Tron—two heavyweights in the crypto space. Experts monitoring on-chain data suggest TRX could potentially outpace Bitcoin in the forthcoming months.

This intriguing forecast hinges on the TRX Opportunity Score, a measure designed to indicate when Tron performs better or worse than Bitcoin. It draws on a variety of factors, such as the TRX/BTC ratio, daily returns, and volatility.

Wedson highlighted that the current Opportunity Score for TRX suggests it could be on the brink of a significant shift in value compared to Bitcoin. Analysts have pointed out that Tron has re-entered the performance zone in relation to BTC, a trend that has historically preceded substantial price reversals.

According to Wedson, when Tron enters periods of weakness—indicated by red or orange zones on the chart—it often triggers a pronounced upward trend relative to Bitcoin. “This pattern has recurred in previous cycles, and it seems to be shaping up again,” he remarked.

With expectations that Tron may soon outperform Bitcoin, Wedson proposed that investors consider reallocating some funds from BTC to TRX. “It might be strategically wise to think about converting a small portion of BTC into TRX, as we anticipate Tron’s potential outperformance becoming more evident in the coming months,” he added.

Current Price Overview

As of now, Bitcoin is trading just under $118,100, marking a rise of over 10% over the past month. In contrast, Tron hovers around $0.3197, reflecting an increase of nearly 18% during the same period.
