Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-New York, drew a large crowd of supporters at a rally on Saturday to call for a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Bowman’s comments came at a rally that also featured speeches from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). The New York congresswoman said people are “targeting” her, her family and her children, and asked, “What do I do?”
“What do I do?” Bowman Asked The crowd chanted: “You’re coming after me. You’re coming after my family. You’re coming after my children. Shouldn’t I fight back? Shouldn’t I fight back? Let’s show them who we are.”
“Should we not fight back? Let’s show them who we are!” Bowman, along with Reps. AOC and Bernie Sanders, said at a rally in the Bronx as pro-Palestinian protesters chanted in an attempt to disrupt the rally.

As the crowd began chanting “Bowman, Bowman,” Democratic congressmen also encouraged the crowd, chanting “Bowman.”
Bowman can be seen joining the crowd chanting “Ceasefire now, ceasefire now.”
“U.S. taxes [kill] “And that includes babies, women and children,” Bowman added.
Bowman is a supporter of the Palestinians. In October 2023, days after Hamas attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking more than 250 hostages, Bowman called on the United States to “welcome” refugees from Palestine.
Bowman said, Co-Sponsor A commitment to support Israel.
In a recent interview with CBS Late show, Bowan called for US funds to be used to create a “Palestinian state.”
“Our foreign policy is pretty much aligned with the idea of peace through strength, which means we need to have a very powerful military to intimidate other countries into doing what we say,” Bowman said, “and use our wealth and our resources and our means to lead diplomacy.”

Sanders previously said Israel “has the right to defend itself,” but added: [the] Letting thousands of women and children die in Gaza is the “right” thing to do.
The Vermont senator also said he would not attend a speech by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu scheduled for July.
