Excitement Builds for Upcoming Seasons of Bridgerton
Fans are eagerly anticipating the new season of Netflix’s popular show, Bridgerton. Showrunner Jess Brownell recently hinted at which Bridgerton brothers will take the spotlight in seasons five and six.
In a casual exchange, Brownell referenced a pocket square, revealing initials that suggest both characters will feature prominently in the upcoming stories, though the order remains a mystery.
The initials “E” and “F” on the pocket square correspond to sister characters Eloise and Francesca Bridgerton, played by Claudia Jessie and Hannah Dodd, respectively.
Adapted from Julia Quinn’s Regency romance novels, the fifth book, To Sir Philip With Love, delves into Eloise’s love story, while the sixth, When She Was Wicked, focuses on Francesca. However, fans recall that by the end of season 3, Francesca marries Sir John Stirling and heads to his family estate in Scotland. Her romance also takes a turn with a gender role shift for her second love interest, making it a bit more intriguing.
Brownell shared that the Bridgerton siblings are experiencing notable developments, with Francesca’s marriage and Eloise finding herself under her mother Violet’s matchmaking tactics. Meanwhile, the youngest sibling, Hyacinth, is eager to make her debut, which should bring about some comedic moments this season.
Reactions on social media have been buzzing regarding the upcoming changes. One fan speculated that Francesca might take center stage since they’ve witnessed more of her story lately.
Another fan expressed impatience, stating they’re tired of waiting for Eloise’s arc to unfold and long for a deeper exploration of her journey.
After season 2, many expected that Benedict’s next adventure in the book series, A Gentleman’s Offer, would be adapted next, yet season 3 shifted focus to Colin and Penelope. According to Quinn, Netflix has slated eight seasons in total, one for each major book.
Beneath the charming narratives, Thompson, who plays Benedict, has spoken about the meaningfulness of his role. He emphasized the importance of learning from experiences and not shying away from mistakes.
As for the upcoming season, Brownell emphasized the thrill of exploring new characters and settings, promising fans a richer storytelling experience.
Season 4 is set to unfold with a reimagined Cinderella tale, featuring Benedict on the search for a mysterious woman he met at his mother’s masquerade ball.
Thompson shared insights into his connection with co-star Yerin Ha, describing a scene where they fly kites as a metaphor for breaking down emotional barriers.
Mark your calendars: Part 1 of Season 4 is scheduled to release on January 29th, followed by Part 2 on February 26th.
