Pop superstar Pharrell Williams says he's tired of fellow Hollywood stars telling ordinary Americans how they should vote, and that celebrities should “keep quiet” about their political opinions.
Pharrell said the journalist The Hollywood Reporter I tried to pressure him We decided to talk about the election.
“I don't get involved in politics,” he retorted to the media, “and in fact it annoys me sometimes when I see celebrities trying to tell you this. [who to vote for]Some celebrities I respect have opinions, but not all of them. I'm one of them. [who says]”What the hell? Shut up. No one is listening.”
He continued, “When people are getting self-righteous and rolling up their sleeves and walking around with signs, I'm saying, 'Shut up!' So I'd rather not get in the way. And of course I'm going to vote how I want to vote.”
Democrats have long used Hollywood celebrities to spread their message and pressure their fans, especially young people, to vote left.
But left-wing celebrity influencers appear to have reached a saturation point when it comes to their powers of persuasion.
As Breitbart News reported, two recent polls suggest that Taylor Swift's endorsement of Kamala Harris hasn't energized voters as much as Democrats had hoped.
In fact, polls have shown that the majority of voters don't care about Taylor Swift's political opinions.
In a new ABC News/Ipsos poll, just 6% of respondents release Sunday said the pop star's endorsement of Kamala Harris made them more likely to vote for her, while 13 percent said it made them less likely to support her, and a majority, 81 percent, said it had no effect either way.
The new poll comes after another YouGov poll also found that Taylor Swift's support had not had the impact the left had hoped.
Just 8% of respondents said Swift's endorsement would make them “somewhat” or “a lot” more likely to vote for Kamala Harris, while 20% said it would make them “somewhat” or “a lot” more likely to vote for former President Donald Trump.
66 percent of respondents said their support for Swift hadn't changed anything.
