Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said on CNN's “outfront” on Wednesday that signal chats between senior national security officials showed President Donald Trump's second administration was “drunk.”
Schiff said, “He won't be accountable to his administration. He's not going to take responsibility. He doesn't want to fire people. He doesn't want to talk about it. He wants to postpone this as another witch hunt. See here.”
He said, “It's a sign of both inexperience and incompetence for many of these people. Getting out of his depth was Hegseth. He passed in one vote. Tulsi Gabbard was not in business either for Ratcliffe.
Schiff said, “It looks like they're drunk with power. And there's a kind of rog haughtyness about what we witnessed in this chat: rog haughtyness against our allies, rog haughtyness against national security protocols that should be followed, incompetence and rog haughtyness, just a dangerous mix for the country.”
