Simone Biles wears walking boot for interview after Olympic injury

Gymnastics fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Simone Biles told NBC’s Mike Tirico: In an interview aired by the station Monday night, she said the boot on her left foot was “just a precaution.”

The American gymnast, who won four medals at this year’s Paris Olympics, said her calf was “good,” but added that she had a “little bit of pain.”

She was plagued by a calf injury early in the Olympics but delivered a strong floor routine to ultimately secure a place in the final.

Biles won the silver medal in the event on Monday despite falling before her final floor routine and having to have her calf re-taped.

“I think top athletes are pretty tough, so they push through pain and pleasure and are ready for anything,” she said in an interview with NBC. “So what we’re seeing here is she just tried to overrotate just to be safe, and she did and she almost knocked Laurent over. 2024 Paris Olympics

Biles added three gold medals and one silver to her already illustrious resume at this year’s Olympics, cementing her status as the GOAT of gymnastics. However, unlike the Tokyo Olympics where she was forced to withdraw from the competition due to a “kink,” the opposite happened this time around.

She has won 11 Olympic medals and is currently the second most decorated female gymnast of all time.

In an interview, Biles said she was even more grateful for her Olympic experience this year, calling it “really special.”

The superstar gymnast also said she was in a good mental place while competing this year.

“So every time I compete it’s just a feeling of pure joy. I can’t believe I’m out there again and representing my country and just having fun and doing what I love,” Biles said.
