Simone Biles will push through calf injury, compete in all 4 events at Olympic team finals

Simone Biles is scheduled to compete in all four events in the team final at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday night, despite suffering a calf injury during the qualifying rounds.

Biles appeared to injure her calf while warming up and limped off the floor. She played through the injury to earn points in the final three events of the round. Trainers taped her left foot before she competed on floor, vault and uneven bars.

U.S. coach Cecil Lundy offered good news about Biles’ injury: She said it was minor and there were no plans to keep her out of the Olympics.

“Words can’t describe how proud I am of her and what she’s been through and what she’s showing the world about her abilities.”

Biles will place last for the U.S. on vault, floor exercise and balance beam. She will come in second on the uneven bars.
