After being asked what inspired the idea for the “Transa” idea (a compilation album by the organization Red Hot), Bell said he and his friend Dust Reed have been developing the project for four years.

“We had this amazing team at the forced Red Hot, and we wanted to create something that is this huge celebration,” Bell continued, adding that “Transa” “focuses on all the beauty and gifts that trans people bring to the world.”

Trans activists also argued that Red Hot “has really changed the game in terms of the presence of LGBT people in pop culture and really raised awareness of AIDS relief.”

“We've become some of the more than 100 most talented artists of our generation, and today we've become some of the kind of imaginative and bold trance and non-binary artists,” Bell said of the new “Transa” album.

Clarkson, ABC's first ever winner American Idol“Transa” (released last November) features tracks by singers Sam Smith, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Sade Adu and band Fleet Foxes.

When asked, “What is the atmosphere of the album?” Bell replied, “There are eight chapters,” and “It covers it like a wide range of genres and emotions. It represents something like this, a spiritual journey.”

“So you can hear it – if you have three and a half hours, you can hear it at once – but you can hear each chapter,” continued Bell. “Some of them are bright and more like chapters of dancing, liberation.

“But there's something for everyone on the project,” the transgender activist added.
