Sister of Army engineer allegedly decapitated by son says family ‘can’t believe it’

The aunt of Justine Mone, the conspiracy theorist accused of beheading her father and flaunting his head in a YouTube video, says her family is in complete shock over her brother’s gruesome murder.

“I can’t believe it. It’s so refreshing.” Mary Jash told the Daily Mail Her 68-year-old brother, Michael Mone, was decapitated Tuesday at his home in Levittown.

Justin was arrested Tuesday night in his father’s death and charged with first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse and possession of an instrument of crime with intent to kill, and was photographed grinning.

The video, titled “Mohn’s Militia – Call to Arms for American Patriots,” was posted to YouTube around 5:30 p.m. and appears to have been recorded in a bedroom, with Mohn on the computer. It looks like he’s reading out a manifesto written on the screen.

Neighbors said they noticed young Mohn starting exhibiting strange behavior over the summer.

“He just started acting strange” Bert DeHaven told 6ABC.

“I called the police a few times because he was sitting right there and kept staring at my house. I was like, ‘There’s something wrong with this.'”

DeHaven said she did not feel threatened by Mohn’s actions.

“You know, when I got home, he just picked him up and moved,” DeHaven noted, calling the behavior “bizarre.”

But in his private life, Mone shared rambling content online, including songs and books about demons, stalkers, and corrupt presidential candidates.
