Sam Altman, along with his mother Connie and brothers Max and Jack, vehemently denied the allegations in a joint statement published in X, calling Anne's claims “completely false” and “deeply hurtful.” '' The family expressed their love and concern for Anne's health and pointed out the challenges of caring for a family member with mental health issues.
Ann Altman, also known as Annie, has previously made similar allegations against her brother on social media platforms. Her lawyer said in a court filing that she experienced mental health issues as a result of the alleged abuse. The lawsuit seeks more than $75,000 in damages, in addition to a jury trial and attorney's fees. The $75,000 figure that has been trending in social media discussions about the case may simply be a filing requirement to indicate that the size of the case may require a jury trial.
A statement from Altman's family accused Ann of demanding more money and refusing conventional treatment, despite her attempts to seek help by offering monthly financial assistance. They explained that their previous decision was not to respond publicly to the allegations, but that they were forced to do so after Anne took legal action.
The accusations against Altman are the only mystery swirling around OpenAI. A former employee turned whistleblower was found dead in his apartment just as he was being asked to testify against Altman's company in several high-profile copyright cases against the AI giant. Ta.
