Duffy Family Cooks Breakfast at Home with “Fox & Friends”
Transportation Director Sean Duffy, alongside Rachel Campos Duffy and their kids, welcomed Steve Doucy into their New Jersey home. They prepared a “Maha” breakfast together and chatted about the “Great American Road Trip” campaign.
A recent Reddit post highlights a family dispute over egg prices during a holiday gathering. The author, 27, mentioned renting a villa with nine family members, including her 24-year-old sister and the sister’s boyfriend.
Everyone was supposed to pitch in with food and supplies for the trip, but there were issues with her sister’s previous contributions. The woman stated her family normally goes through about 20 eggs each week, buying from a neighbor for $5 a dozen, especially for organic and free-range eggs. She occasionally opts for organic free-range from the store when necessary, which tends to cost $7-8 in her area.
The vacation spot they chose was pricey, so they brought along two dozen eggs from their neighbors to keep costs down. However, trouble arose when the entire carton vanished overnight.
She asked her sister if someone had eaten her eggs. The sister admitted that she and her boyfriend had made omelettes using their eggs, saying they hadn’t bought any themselves.
When the author inquired if they could trade eggs, her sister agreed but returned from the store with the cheapest brand. This frustrated the woman, leading to a confrontation where she insisted her sister should replace the organic eggs rather than settle for lower quality. The sister reacted angrily, arguing it was not a significant issue.
Eventually, the sister did go back to buy organic eggs but complained about spending ten dollars for a dozen. The situation led to a divide in the family, with the author’s husband feeling that the price was excessive, while her mother suggested she was overreacting. Meanwhile, an aunt supported the idea that the sister should replace what she took.
Public sentiment on social media seemed to favor the author’s perspective. Many agreed that if the sister didn’t want to pay for higher-quality eggs, she shouldn’t have used them in the first place. Some, however, felt that the original poster bore some responsibility in the matter.
One controversial comment suggested that the author could have just let it go to avoid further issues during the family trip. Etiquette experts chimed in, emphasizing that respect and courtesy should guide interactions around shared resources, whether it’s food or other possessions.
Lisa Gach, an etiquette expert, praised the author for maintaining her standards and pointed out that if someone uses premium items, they should ideally reciprocate in kind. Ultimately, the key is open communication and calmness to ensure family harmony during gatherings.
