Gotham FC will once again be represented in a U.S. Women's National Team event.
Six Gotham players, including Crystal Dunn, have been invited to U.S. Soccer's opening training camp in Southern California later this month, the sport's governing body announced Tuesday.
Dan will join Tiana Davidson, Jenna Neiswonger, Emily Sonnett, Neely Martin and Ella Stephens for the week-long camp, which will run from January 14th to 21st.
This camp will be the first call-up for Martin and Stevens. This will also be Dunn's first public soccer appearance since the three-time Olympian missed the past few months of the NWSL season due to an “excused absence.”
The 26-man roster was missing several notable players, including Gotham's Rose Lovell, who recently underwent ankle surgery. Lovell's recovery schedule was not immediately known.
The elite “Triple Espresso” front line of Trinity Rodman, Sophia Smith and Mallory Swanson will also not be participating in the upcoming camp as they continue to battle lingering injuries.
The trio also missed NWSL European friendlies in late November and early December.
The U.S. women's national team is not scheduled to compete internationally during this time, which may be one reason why only 11 of the 22 gold medal-winning athletes at this summer's 2024 Paris Games are participating.
As six uncapped players participate in their first senior team training camp, U.S. Women's National Team coach Emma Hayes welcomes the opportunity to develop and invest in young talent.

“We continue to foster a national team environment and culture that is centered around players and female athletes, and we look forward to helping our players reach their full potential,” Hayes said in a statement. “Having a positive developmental experience with the USWNT will help them in their careers and also help us build a deeper roster. I look forward to being on the field with these players and the players in Futures Camp. , I'm really looking forward to a solid week of training with both groups without having to adjust the impact the match will have on their load or training plans.
The U.S. Women's Camp will be held at the same time as the Futures Camp, which includes 24 promising athletes.
The roster is expected to be announced on Wednesday.
