Skating coach Alexandr Kirsanov’s death in DC plane crash leaves wife heartbroken

Alexander Kirsanov, a skating director of Delaware, was sad about the loss of a loved one on Wednesday night with a fatal collision between the American Airlines Jet and the American Army Black Hawk Helicopter.

Kirsanov's wife, Nataliya Gudin, and his daughter Nicole Kirsanov opened a tragedy on Thursday.

Gudin told ABC News Kirsanov was with two youth ice skaters and talked to her husband early on Wednesday when he was riding an American Eagle Flight in 5342.

In a statement published on Thursday night, Delaware University Dennis Asanis confirmed that a tragic case, including Kirsanov, had lost members of the school figure skating club.

“It is unknown whether these young skaters (not UD students) were accompanied by their parents and other chaperons,” said Asanis's statement. “Kirsanov and the skaters use UD ice link facilities, have been trained at multiple world -class skating champions and high -performance training centers at universities, a training home for competitors. Figure skating community Is close and many of our students and coaches have trained with the lost people.
