The NYPD has released a sketch of an 11-year-old autistic boy, Jacob Prickett, who has been reported missing from his home in Brooklyn. It’s been noted that his mother allegedly denied having a child.
The drawing was shared on Saturday evening, depicting Jacob who lived with his mother on Howard Avenue, close to New York Avenue in the Brownsville area.
Reports indicate that authorities, alongside ACS workers, had recently visited the home as part of their investigation.
Neighbors have mentioned not having seen the boy for several weeks, raising concerns.
When authorities inquired about her son, his mother reacted with anger, claiming she had no children and lived by herself.
Eventually, police brought in a K9 unit to search the apartment, and the dog reportedly found traces of human blood near the refrigerator.
However, despite an extensive search, the boy was still missing at the time.
On Wednesday, Prickett’s mother was taken to the hospital as “an emotionally disturbed person,” but no immediate criminal charges were filed against her.
ACS had first gone to the apartment on September 25, following neighbor reports about the boy’s absence. They found the mother unwilling to provide Jacob’s birth certificate during their visit.
Despite a thorough search, there were no signs of the boy having lived there recently.
As of Monday, there were no new updates regarding Jacob’s condition or location.
Jacob is described as having a medium complexion, brown eyes, and dark hair. He is nonverbal and unable to share identification details himself.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on this case to reach out to the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or the Spanish line at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Tips can also be submitted through the Crimestoppers website or via social media.
