Skip Bayless rips Cowboys’ Jerry Jones over Dak Prescott contract

Skip Bayless may not be putting on an active show, but that didn't stop him from reacting to Dak Prescott's huge contract extension.

The Dallas Cowboys' star quarterback Four-year, $240 million contract An hour before opening kickoff on Sunday morning.

The deal made Prescott the highest-paid player in NFL history.

And Bayless, who left FS1's “Undisputed” last month, spoke to X about the decision, bringing to an end a long, drawn-out process that ended with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones paying both Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb their desired amounts.

Skip Bayless had a lot to say about Dak Prescott's contract extension. The Skip Bayless Show

“Jerry Jones took a quarterback who lost three straight playoff games and went 2-5 in the playoffs and made him the highest-paid player in NFL history.” Bayless says“This is why Jerry's Dallas Cowboys haven't made the NFC Championship Game in 30 years. Now I'm sticking with … Duck.”

It was the first in a series of posts.

Just three minutes later, Bayless added that at age 72, his “love” for the Cowboys is “being tested like never before.”

He questioned whether Prescott had the skills to be a winning quarterback.

“The last time the Dallas Cowboys played at home in the playoffs when Dak Prescott was leading the team, we were beaten 27-0 as the No. 2 seed. We paid Dak the biggest contract in NFL history,” Bayless said.

He also criticized Jones for giving Prescott a contract even though he never publicly stated it.

“Jerry Jones pushed me all the way to zero hour to believe he actually had the vision and guts to let Dak play this season without a new contract and prove himself,” Bayless wrote, “even if it meant risking losing him to free agency. But Jerry had no 'tolerance for ambiguity,' as he put it.”

The Cowboys face an underdog matchup in Week 1, visiting arguably the NFL's best defense, the Cleveland Browns, on a Sunday afternoon.
