The cause of Slash's stepdaughter's death has been revealed.
Lucy Blue Knight died of “hydrogen sulfide poisoning,” according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. The 25-year-old woman's cause of death has been ruled a suicide.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), hydrogen sulfide is a “colorless, flammable, and highly toxic” gas.
Inhaling high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide can lead to “very rapid loss of consciousness and death.”

“Lucy Blue was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer and a charming, lovely person with a kind heart.”
The Guns N' Roses guitarist announced Knight's death in a statement shared on social media on July 21.
“Lucy Blue Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Megan Hodges and Mark Knight, step-daughter of Samantha Summers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlett Knight and sister-in-law of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024 in Los Angeles, California,” Slash wrote.

“Lucy Blue was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, charming, lovely and kind-hearted.”
“The family requests that you respect their privacy at this time and keep speculation on social media to a minimum as they grieve this tragic loss.”

Slash is in a relationship with Knight's mother, Megan Hodges. Rolling Stone, The pair began dating in 1989 but broke up before rekindling their romance in 2015.
Hodges had children Knight and his sister Scarlett with former partner Mark Knight, who later married producer Samantha Summers, and Slash, who is also the father of two sons, London and Cash. Ex-wife Perla Ferrer.

Hours after the announcement of Knight's death was shared on social media, an account believed to belong to the musician posted I shared my last post.
“I'm sorry if I alienated you, manipulated or controlled you, told you to quit your day job because I felt safe knowing my parents were financially supporting you, or masked real issues with toxic positivity,” Knight wrote in the caption alongside a photo of her. “I've missed out on countless opportunities and connections because of my disgustingly large ego, insecure heart and fear of being vulnerable. May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job as Lucy Blue. Peace.”
Today, after Knight's cause of death was revealed, Hodges commented on the post, writing, “Love you Lucy!”
